Buckingham PalaceBuckingham Palace will be open to the public from 23 July to 3 October 2011. This summer, see lavishly-furnished rooms with some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection.
Highlights include:
 
• Paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Vermeer, Poussin, Canaletto and Claude
• Sculpture by Canova and Chantrey
• Exquisite examples of Sèvres porcelain
• Some of the finest English and French furniture in the world
 
The Queen's Year Exhibition at Buckingham Palace
The special Queen's Year exhibition at the Summer Opening of the State Rooms in 2010 presents the spectacle of the principal national and ceremonial events in the royal calendar.
 
The Queen’s Year will include displays of ceremonial robes, gifts, uniforms and dresses, as well as archive photography and film to evoke the many and varied aspects of the sovereign’s work.
 
The exhibition will illustrate the pageantry, tradition and ceremony of the State Opening of Parliament, the historic Garter Day ceremony at Windsor Castle and Trooping the Colour, as well as investitures, garden parties and State Visits.

Buckingham Palace operates a timed-ticket system, with admission every 15 minutes throughout the day. Tickets are valid only on the date and at the entrance time specified on the ticket. Regrettably, late-comers cannot be admitted.

A visit lasts between 2 and 2.5 hours.
