The Czech Republic's capital of Prague is the sixth most visited city in Europe and once you have visited this historic destination, it's easy to see why. Prague has some of the most impressive architecture on the
continent and shouldn't be missed.
This is a diverse city, which combines a modern functional town with classic Gothic architecture no longer seen elsewhere in mainland Europe.
Accommodation prices used to be extremely cheap – which was part of its initial appeal. And while things have slowly become a little bit more expensive as its popularity has grown, prices are still nowhere what you would pay for London hotels or Dubai hotels of a similar standard.
The Old Town or Staré Město is where you can enjoy the classic sights of Prague including the City Hall which boasts the famous Astronomical Clock.
This beautiful medieval clock, first installed in 1410 is still in perfect order and draws plenty of crowds, as it's the oldest working astronomical clock in the world.
Just a short walk from the square is the iconic Charles Bridge which crosses the Vltava river.
Not only is this a stunning structure which is a great place to get a view of the Old Town, but also is a venue for artists and musicians to ply their trade.
With a number of stalls selling jewellery and paintings of some the city's iconic landmarks, it's the perfect place to pick up a gift or a memento of your visit.
Leading up from the bridge is Prague Castle which is the biggest ancient castle in the world and has some of the best views of the city.
The Royal Gardens are well worth a visit, along with the hourly changing of the guard on the castle gates.
Prague is also known for its vibrant nightlife and has some fantastic pubs, bars and restaurants renowned for their hospitality
The city as a whole is great place to visit either for a short weekend or a longer stay to take in all that Prague has to offer.
